The Power of Story: Amplifying Voices and Building Community (10:00 am - 11:45 am)

• All alumni are invited to amplify their voices through the sharing of personal stories at this experiential community-building workshop. Solo, group and partnered exercises will be used to deconstruct how we listen, explore listening fatigue in today’s world and generate methods to refresh how we listen. Within this space, participants will dive into story creation and learn specific techniques and guidelines to craft, structure and tell any personal story.

Sunday Luncheon (11:45 am - 12:45 pm)

• Don’t miss this chance to connect and network over lunch with fellow College alumnae and allies.

Trailblazing Women: Alumnae “Firsts” (12:45 pm - 2:00 pm)

• This year, Columbia College Women celebrates the 35th anniversary of the graduation of the College’s first fully coeducational class. In honor of this, they are celebrating other “firsts,” both large and small, collective and individual. This event will feature three alumnae with unique experiences and perspectives who will discuss their journeys, their shared and individual challenges, and the opportunities that lie ahead for women at Columbia and in society at large. Keynote Speakers: Jean Lee ’92, JRN’95 - First American to join the foreign press corps in North Korea, Jen Maxfield ’99, JRN’00 - Moderator, NBC 4 New York Reporter and adjunct professor at Columbia Journalism School, Alicia Guevara ’94 - CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC.
