Join the Columbia College Alumni Association in LA for an exclusive chat with Raamla Mohamed CC’03, Scandal writer, and Sasha Silver CC’07, Hulu Executive. Raamla and Sasha will be interviewed by Esther Chang CC’99, WME Partner, on topics ranging from being a woman in TV to the journey from the College to Hollywood.

About Raamla Mohamed CC'03

Raamla Mohamed was born and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from Columbia University with a double major in English Literature and Film Studies, Raamla went on to receive her MFA in Writing for Film and Television at the University of Southern California. Not long after graduating, Raamla worked on "Grey's Anatomy” and "Off the Map”. She then went on to become a fellow in the Disney/ABC Writing Program. Most recently, Raamla was a Supervising Producer on the show “Scandal”. During its seven-season run, Raamla wrote eleven episodes for the series, including the crossover episode with “How To Get Away with Murder”. She is currently co-writing a script for HBO with Issa Rae about black teenagers in the affluent L.A. neighborhood of Windsor Hills and just sold a romantic comedy to Universal with Malcolm Lee attached to direct.

About Sasha Silver CC'07

Sasha Silver graduated with a B.A. in English in 2007. Since then, she has developed content for TV and film at Disney ABC and Paramount Films. She currently is a drama development executive at Hulu.

About Esther Chang CC'99

Esther Chang is a partner at WME and co-head of the agency’s talent department. She represents a diverse roster of leading talent such as Charlize Theron, Eric Bana, Priyanka Chopra, Doona Bae, Daveed Diggs, Drake, Dave Franco, Naomie Harris, Riley Keough, Yifei Liu, Dylan Minnette, Elisabeth Moss, Bob Odenkirk, Keri Russell, Tye Sheridan, Dan Stevens and Letitia Wright.

Chang began her career at the William Morris Agency, and was promoted to agent in September 2001. She is a graduate of Columbia University, where she majored in English literature and minored in Asian American studies.

Chang is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She is also on the Board of Women in Film. Chang resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two young children.
