The Senior Fund, a College Fund campaign run by Columbia's seniors, marks the beginning of a lifetime involvement with the College. It is the first step for many in the transition from student to dedicated alumnus.
The Fund educates seniors about the importance of supporting Columbia as a volunteer, and donor as an alumnus. Each gift, no matter the size, is about the proportionate ability to give and the desire to share a common goal with classmates.
Participation is also a chance for graduating seniors to set a class precedent. The Class of 2009, with an 90.5% participation rate, set a new record for Columbia College. This year, the Class of 2010 aims to surpass last year's record by achieving a 91% participation rate. Students are also encouraged to give a gift of $20.10 to show their support for their class.
