Columbia/Sciences Po and Columbia/Ecole Polytechnique Exchange Programs
Columbia College participates in an exchange program with
Sciences Po.
Each year interested Columbia juniors majoring in one of the social
sciences, who are in good standing and have sufficient French, may spend
their junior year studying at Sciences Po––the premier social science university in France.
Columbia College also participates in an
exchange program with Ecole Polytechnique. Each year interested Columbia
juniors majoring in a science, who are in good standing and have sufficient
French, may spend their junior year studying at the Ecole Polytechnique––the
premier science and engineering university in France.
Columbia College students pay no tuition beyond that which his paid to
Columbia College. Students will, however, be expected to pay their room and
boarding expenses at Sciences Po or Ecole Polytechnique.
The same procedures for study abroad are in place for these exchanges (see
Study Abroad above). Grades from Sciences Po and Ecole Polytechnique will be
treated as transfer credit; they will not be included in computing the Columbia
College grade point average. Interested students should contact the Office of
Global Programs at studyabroad@columbia.edu early on in their studies but no
later than the fall of their sophomore year.
