In 2010, Electronic Arts released a video game called "Dante's Inferno" that made Dante out to be a crusading knight who must fight his way through hell to rescue his love Beatrice. The game takes the psychological drama of the poem and turns it into a violent bloodfest, all the while scattering allusions and citations from Dante's work throughout the carnage.
