Frequently Asked Questions & Their Answers
I am thinking of applying to Columbia College. Can I sit in
on a Core Curriculum class?
The array of classes available to Columbia students is vast, and
applicants who wish to get a feel for the classroom experience may
do so by inquiring at the
Columbia University Visitors Center. Classes may be visited
only in the Spring and Fall terms. Overnight visits may also be
available through the Visitors Center.
When I try to browse the CC Reader On-line or pages in Instructors'
Resources I am prompted to accept a security certificate. What should
I do?
The Columbia Certificate Authority digital certificate expired
on April 21, 2002. This certificate allows you to access secure
services such as CUBMail, CourseWorks, Web-based computer account
management tools, and some electronic Library resources. You need
to download and install a new certificate on your computer in order
to continue using these and other secure services.
You can download new certificates at:

I am a new instructor and my CUNIX ID and password is being refused;
how can I gain access to Instructors' Resources?
Please contact the Center for the Core Curriculum
and ask the staff to add your ID to the list of authorized users
at the earliest opportunity.
