The collection of Chinese painting and calligraphy at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is among the best in the world outside Asia. On view in the current exhibition are many of the most beautiful and historically significant works in all genres. Focusing on landscape paintings and calligraphy, this special College alumni tour, led by Robert E. Harrist, Jr., Jane and Leopold Swergold Professor of Chinese Art History, will emphasize "slow looking"-an approach that can be applied to enjoying all works of art. After an hour of viewing the exhibit, attendees will join Professor Harrist on the Met rooftop for conversation and drinks. Tour fee includes your museum entry. Drinks are not included. Space is limited.
