Join us to discover where healthcare and the genomics revolution connect. Learn about a career as a GENETIC COUNSELOR. Genetic counselors are Masters trained healthcare professionals with expertise in genetics/genomics and counseling. They work with directly with patients, families, physicians, and laboratories to assess risk for genetic conditions, interpret genomic laboratory results, and provide support in decision-making about testing and results. Their expertise allows pursuit of many exciting opportunities in patient care, advocacy, research, industry, and graduate education. Continuous advances in genomics means the field is constantly evolving and growing. In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of genetic counselors is projected to grow 29% from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations.
