Dean Valentini sent a video to students, introducing himself and answering questions posed during his first few weeks as dean
Interim Dean James Valentini answered students’ questions at a town hall meeting sponsored by the Columbia College Student Council and the Columbia Daily Spectator. He also issued a fundraising challenge for seniors to donate one percent of their income to the College for the three years after they graduate.
More than 1,000 alumni, students, parents and friends gathered on October 15 at the Baker Athletics Complex for Homecoming 2011.
Dean James J. Valentini welcomed the 2011 holiday season at the annual Tree Lighting on Campus Walk. Students from all undergraduate schools celebrated with hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts and acapella performances. The event was followed by the annual Yule Log Ceremony in John Jay Lounge.
Columbia College alumnus Macky Alston won a prize for his documentary Love Free or Die at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival in January. Alston was one of seven Columbia College alumni presenting films at the annual festival in Park City, Utah.
Roone Arledge Auditorium in Alfred Lerner Hall was filled on February 2 as almost 500 scholarship donors and student recipients met and mingled at the annual Dean’s Scholarship Reception.
