Financial Aid Premises
Columbia
College is committed to two basic premises which govern both the
admissions and financial aid processes.
Need Blind Admissions
Admission
to Columbia is need blind. This means that when your
application is reviewed by the Office of Undergraduate Admission
it is looked at without regard to whether or not you are
able pay for the total cost of attending Columbia.
Need Based Financial Aid
In
addition to need blind admissions, Columbia is also committed
to meeting the full need of all applicants admitted
as first-year students. This means that the information you
send to the Office of Financial Aid and Educational Financing
is used to determine a fair family contribution toward your
educational expenses. To the extent that your family's contribution
falls short of the cost of attendance, you'll receive a financial
aid package to help you cover your college costs.
