Each fellowship provides a $24,000 stipend for the initial year of graduate study, plus partial travel support to attend the AMS Annual Meeting.  AMS also offers its fellows special tours of various agencies in the Washington, D.C. area and ongoing academic and career support.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents entering their first year of full-time graduate study in the atmospheric, hydrologic, or oceanic sciences in the fall of the application year.  Candidates must also have a current GPA of at least 3.25 on a four-point scale at the time of application.
