Ampère Excellence Scholarships provide financial support for international students in the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) de Lyon, in France.

Scholarships are available for applicants to both full-time M1 and M2 programs (the first and second years of a two-year Master’s degree course, respectively).  Scholarships provide tuition and administrative fee waivers plus a stipend of €1,000 per month over twelve months.

Candidates for admission to M1 programs must hold or be about to obtain a Licence degree, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the ENS de Lyon.  Candidates for admission to M2 programs must have or be about to have successfully carried out M1 studies, or hold or be about to obtain an equivalent qualification recognized by ENS de Lyon.

Scholarships are open to non-French nationals under the age of 26.  Candidates must have sufficient competence in French to be able to successfully undertake the course being applied for; for candidates in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, the C1 level is recommended.  All candidates must provide proof of their level of competence in French.
