The Evolving Earth Foundation offers grants to support college student research in the earth sciences. The emphasis will be on research topics that relate to the mission and priorities of the foundation—understanding paleoenvironments and paleoclimates, understanding of taphonomic processes in various environments, systematics or taxonomy of fossil plant or animal groups, studies of specific fossil localities, relationships of organisms in paleocommunities with each other or their environment, and the evolution of landforms and geologic features.
The foundation offers ten grants per year, for amounts of up to $3,000 per grant. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers at accredited U.S. colleges and universities or research institutions are eligible to apply.
Grant applications that support the foundation’s mission in any way will be considered, although preference will be given to projects that relate directly to focus areas of the foundation.
