The Goldman Sachs Scholarship for Excellence is awarded to Black, Hispanic or Native American sophomores and juniors in recognition of outstanding achievement and community service. Recipients of the scholarship in their sophomore year receive a $5,000 award toward tuition and academic expenses for one year. Students invited to return for a second summer internship are eligible to receive an additional award of $10,000. Recipients in their junior year receive a scholarship award of $10,000. Scholarship recipients also receive an offer for a paid Goldman Sachs summer internship.

To be considered for the Scholarship for Excellence, you must submit the following information:
  1. An online application at gs.com/careers to job code SFE 09. This job code should be entered in the “Positions preference” section of the online application.
  2. You must also apply for the Goldman Sachs summer analyst program through your school’s career service office.
  3. One essay: Please write an essay (500 words maximum) in response to one of the following topics.
    1. Why are you interested in the financial services industry?
    2. Describe how you have demonstrated team-oriented leadership through your involvement with a campus based organization.
