HKU-ST is a research university that focuses on science, technology, and business, though a few social science or humanities courses may be available. Students can earn 3-9 credits on the program. A wide variety of courses taught in English can be chosen (see courses taught in previous years for examples). Additionally, the HKUST International Summer Exchange Program offers a wide variety of social and cultural activities to round out your experience in Hong Kong. Columbia College and SEAS have an exchange agreement that allows nominated students to attend the program tuition free, however students selected must cover a program fee, flights, and incidentals. All students live in student dormitories on campus during the summer term.
Eligibility: All CC and SEAS students are welcome to apply by the deadline. To start an application, visit the OGP brochure page and click 'Start an Application'. Columbia College and SEAS students have different summer transfer credit rules. All students should consult the OGP eligibility page to ensure that they meet all specific academic requirements for each school (CC and SEAS) to study abroad. Students interested in this program should review summer transfer credit eligibility to help determine which courses offered on HKU-ST's summer program will be eligible for transfer credit.
