Each year, the Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Scholarship provides for a year of full tuition and additional expenses for a Columbia University student who intends to study at a college or university in Japan. The recipient is selected based on the recommendation of the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at Columbia Business School, which also provides support for travel to and from the Japanese study site.
All matriculated Columbia University graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to apply, provided they are under 35, lack sufficient funds to pursue their intended course of study in Japan, and intend to enroll in a college or university course of study in Japan. There is no preference for particular majors, and applicants need not be fluent in Japanese, although some proficiency may be advantageous.
Citizens of any country other than Japan are eligible for the scholarship. Applicants must apply independently to their intended course of study. All candidates are encourage to consult the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at Columbia Business School for additional information.
