David Hemingson made one of the most remarkable feature film debuts in recent memory as the screenwriter and producer of Focus Features’ The Holdovers, earning five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
Jeff Rake is the creator and showrunner of the global phenomenon Manifest, a character-driven series that ran for four seasons and became one of Netflix’s most-watched shows worldwide.
In this moderated fireside chat, Hemingson and Rake will explore their creative paths and the craft of building character-driven stories with lasting impact. The conversation will be moderated by CUE President Katherine Chang and CUE Board Member Jacob Snider, both alumni of Columbia College.
A reception will follow, offering alumni the opportunity to connect and continue the conversation.
Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. PDT. The panel will run from 7-8 p.m., followed by a reception from 8-9 p.m.
