IN LUMINE TUO

Chemistry

Nicholas Turro, William P. Schweitzer Professor of Chemistry, received the George C. Pimentel Award for his outstanding contributions to chemical education. Turro will be presented with a certificate and $5,000 at the American Chemical Society’s annual meeting in March.

Stately

The New York Council for the Humanities has named Andrew Delbanco, the Julian Clarence Levi Professor in the Humanities and a member of the English and history departments, the 2003 Scholar of the Year. The council, a nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Arts, annually recognizes the contributions of a leading scholar working in New York State with this award.
