WKCR 89.9FM NY, Columbia's student-run, non-commercial radio station, originated as the Columbia University Radio Club (CURC) in 1936. Our first official broadcast occurred on February 24th, 1941, and just a few months later on October 10th, 1941, the CURC was granted its license from the Federal Communications Commission.
