Beesen Global Travel Fellowships were established to provide opportunities for non-native French speakers to study in Paris during the summer. Each fellowship provides a $5000 award to fellows, intended to fund travel to/from Paris, housing costs during the summer, and defray the general costs associated with living and studying abroad in Paris during the summer. The fellowship’s intent is to give Columbia University students the opportunity to pursue intellectual goals, gain valuable study experience, learn French in Paris, and engage with the Parisian community.

Students of all disciplines within Columbia College, the School of General Studies, the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Barnard College are encouraged to apply. Only students who have submitted a completed application for either the CU Summer French Studies Program or the Art Humanities and Music Humanities will be permitted to apply for the Beesen Global Travel Fellowship. If you receive a Beesen Global Travel Fellowship, you may be asked to speak at an information session for interested students next year.

To apply: Complete your online application here no later than the deadline stated above. Additionally, you must submit a completed application to your Columbia Summer Program by the program's relevant deadline, in order to be considered for the Beesen Travel Fellowship.
