What is a Site Visit?
Site visits offer a unique opportunity to tour employer offices, gain insider knowledge about an industry directly from the professionals within an organization, and explore career paths. During the site visit you will have time to network and build relationships with members working at the organization, see firsthand the company work culture, and learn about future career opportunities and recruitment processes.
About Block:
Block, Inc. is an American technology company and a financial services provider for consumers and merchants. Founded in 2009, Block is the U.S. market leader in point-of-sale systems. Block is made up of Square, Cash App, Afterpay, TIDAL, Bitkey, and Proto and focuses on building technology to increase access to the global economy.
This site visit will provide students with the opportunity to learn about various career paths with specific focus on computer science and software engineering.
Eligibility:
- The following students may register for this event
- A currently enrolled full-time undergraduate student at Columbia College, the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, or the School of General Studies
- An international student - this does not count as off-campus employment so OPT or CPT is not necessary to participate
- Please note: students on a leave of absence or who have withdrawn from Columbia University are not eligible. You must be a currently registered student in good standing. As such, registering for the event does not guarantee participation.
*By registering, you authorize the Center for Career Education to conduct checks to confirm program eligibility.

Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Time: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM (lunch will be provided)
Tentative Agenda: Lunch, information session led by panel of engineers, office tour, Q&A
Deadline to register: Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Please note there are only 27 spots availble. Once full, a waitlist will open and confirmations will be sent to eligible and accepted students on Thursday, October 2.
