After the Major Declaration period each spring, the Center for Student Advising sends to each department a report listing the names of all new majors and concentrators along with their contact information. With accurate, up-to-date files on your majors you will be able to monitor students' progress through the major and ensure that they are completing departmental requirements in a timely fashion in order to make proper progress toward the degree. This will include keeping records of out-of-program, transfer credit, and study abroad approvals. Since you are also responsible for certifying to the Registrar that your majors have successfully completed the departmental major or concentration requirements, your monitoring of their progress toward the degree is especially important.
