Reflecting on the Journey

Regarding quantitative literacy
“One of the things that appeals to me about physics is that it goes into the core understanding of everything and every other science builds on those ideas; I believe that studying the fundamental background of different concepts gives you a greater understanding of the picture as a whole. There are so many opportunities right now with the privatization of space flight. I want to be a part of it. I feel that I am more well-rounded knowing the origins of the way we think."

Regarding quantitative literacy
“‘What can I make?’ is a question that I like asking. For graphic design, you’re working with the text, the images and the space to convey a message. … So that's a little bit similar to what I find fun about math, that sense of play and recombining things.”

Regarding quantitative literacy
“This is a particularly exciting time of union between the fields of mathematics and physics. Deep questions involving topology, geometry, and quantum field theories are now approachable from a number of perspectives, and hence are currently at the heart of great activity and progress in both mathematics and physics. I am awed by how math builds deep connections between pure abstraction and physical reality and am truly excited to take part in such a historic intellectual undertaking. My peers, advisors, and faculty are a constant source of inspiration.”
