New Opportunity for First Years: Summer Research Project on Nuclear Proliferation

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Dr. Emlyn Hughes, Professor of Physics at Columbia University, seeks to recruit four Columbia College first-year students to take part in a summer research project on nuclear proliferation. The multi-disciplinary research will use science, social science and the humanities. You do not need to be a science student to participate – both science students and non-science students are encouraged to apply.

If you are interested in questions around nuclear proliferation, have confidence in your high school calculus skills, and would like to work as part of a team – this project could be for you!  Successful candidates will receive a stipend of $5,000 and will be expected to undertake full-time research for 10 weeks during the summer of 2011.
