New York Needs You is a mentoring and career program for first-generation college students. The program provides biweeklky career workshops in which NYNY Fellows develop relationships with community and business leaders, connect for internships, and receive a professional development grant. This year there are 50 fellows (at least two are at Columbia University). Student mentors are from large financial services firms, hedge funds, private equity shops (Goldman, JPMorgan, Blackstone, etc.), as well as community organizations, other companies, etc. Application deadline this year is 8 March 2011.  For more information, reach out to the Fellowships Office.
