Tree Lighting Gives College Walk a Glow Up

Tuesday, December 5, 2023

Hundreds of students turned out on November 30 for Columbia College’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. A tradition for 25 years, the evening served up sweet treats and warm drinks, plus a number of performances by Columbia’s a cappella groups. The countdown to the big moment began at 7:15 p.m., and then suddenly the lights switched on, welcoming the start of another holiday season in Morningside Heights.
