We know--it feels too early to think about your housing for the 2026-2027 academic year. And yet, making that decision will happen sooner than you think. Choosing your housing at Columbia can be confusing. From the lottery system and housing groups to identifying housing arrangements that meet YOUR needs, there's a lot to consider.

Join Residential Life and Multicultural Affairs to discuss the housing selection process and the options available to students outside of the lottery system.

Learn how to access guaranteed housing that is aligned with your identities or interests--like the Special Interest Communities program--or support you in finding like-minded housemates--like the Intercultural Resource Center and Intercultural House. We'll overview how to get accommodations for those with disabilities and what considerations to keep in mind with regard to unique parts of ourselves such as gender identity, religion, or dietary accommodations.

Join us for as long or as little time as you have and get your questions answered. Folks who attend and apply to the SIC's or the IRC will get priority review during the interview and application period.
