I have worked in the area of condensed matter physics, specifically on scanning tunneling microscopy and atomic force microscopy techniques with Columbia University Professor Abhay Pasupathy. I have specialized in designing and building components to improve imaging performance as well as creating software to increase the range of techniques possible in the field. I have also worked at SLAC National Laboratory in Menlo Park, California, as a femtosecond radio-frequency precision timing engineer, eliminating noise in x-ray free-electron timing signals as precise as 10^-15 seconds. I am particularly interested in the fields of solid state electronics, as well as quantum optics and quantum computing techniques.
