Description:
This summer I will be working with the MicroBooNE neutrino group on their new liquid argon neutrino detector, which will be operational this summer, at Fermilab. The detector will be looking for CP violation in anti-neutrinos, and a possible fourth "sterile" neutrino. I will primarily be working on analysis of "handscans"—looking at particle jets formed by simulated neutrinos interacting with argon. In particular, I will be examining the energy of these interactions to help make sure the computer's analysis will be correct. In addition, I'll be helping out with electronics calibration, for instruments to be used in the detector.
