The Center for Career Education will be offering a new Columbia Experience Overseas (CEO) program this summer in Mumbai, India.

With globalization, international work experience and cultural exposure becoming an increasingly important feature to be competitive on the job market, the CEO program offers Columbia students the unique opportunity for a high-quality, eight-week internship experience in a diverse array of industries in locations around the world. Featuring housing, mentors, training, networking events and financial support, CEO programs provide internship opportunities in eight major cities: Amman, Beijing, Hong Kong, Istanbul, London, Shanghai, Singapore, and now, Mumbai.

Formerly known as Bombay, Mumbai is India’s largest city and the fourth largest city in the world. The heart of “Bollywood,” Mumbai is a culturally rich city filled with old-world relics and contemporary skyscrapers. For those seeking professional development and new exciting experiences, CEO Mumbai offers internships in a place where students can enjoy the beautiful Arabian Sea, the Chor Bazaar and much more.

The CEO Mumbai program, made possible with seed funding from a generous gift from Citigroup, offers internships across a variety of fields, ranging from non-profit to law to publishing. This summer, opportunities are available at Apne Aap Women’s Collective (non-profit), AZB & Partners (legal), Infosys Limited, Kotak Mahindra Bank (commercial banking, credit risk, and process analyst), the Marg Foundation (marketing), Mumbai Mobile Creches (non-profit) and Spencer Stuart (consulting).

“The CEO program allows students to gain work experience while immersing themselves in a new culture,” said Kavita Sharma, dean of the Center for Career Education. “We thought Mumbai would be an ideal location for students to explore while seeking new professional opportunities and are excited to add it to our roster of cities for the CEO program.”

The deadline for some internships has been extended to March 3. For more information on the program and to apply for internship opportunities, visit the Columbia Experience Overseas website
