Financial Aid Office has expanded walk-in hours

Friday, February 1, 2013

The Columbia University Office of Financial Aid and Educational Financing has recently expanded its walk-in hours to better accommodate students. Students can now visit the financial aid office and meet with a financial aid officer any time Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The increase - from six hours per week to 40 hours per week - follows the hiring of four additional full-time staff members in the fall.  Additionally, the financial aid tracking system has been honed to insure that all financial aid officers have the same access to detailed and contextual information on financial aid applicants. As a result, students will have more efficient access to well-informed counseling.

Later this semester, students will have an opportunity to provide feedback on their experience with the Office of Financial Aid so the effectiveness of these changes can be evaluated.
