Katie Meili CC’13 wins bronze in 100m breastroke at Rio 2016 Olympics

Katie Meili CC’13, a former member of the Columbia Women’s Swimming and Diving team, took the bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke at the 2016 Rio Olympics on August 8. 

Meili, who clocked in at 1:06.00, is the first Columbia student-athlete to medal since 2008, when James Williams CC’07 and Erinn Smart BC’01 took silver in fencing at the Beijing Olympics. She is the second member of the swimming and diving program to earn a spot on the podium, following Cristina Teuscher CC’00.
