Columbia College thanks its generous alumni, parents and friends who helped the College raise more than $1.2 million on Columbia Giving Day. The College had more than 900 donors on October 24, 2012, and raised $98,000 in matching funds for the College.

Giving Day was an online-based fundraising event that encouraged friends and alumni to come together, support their favorite schools and programs, and help them win up to $400,000 in eligible prizes. Columbia brought in more than 5,300 donations, including gifts from 39 countries and all 50 states on Giving Day. Donors supported 19 schools and programs across the University.

The College won the Trustee Challenge, bringing in an additional $78,179 for the College, and earned an extra $ 15,000 for participation and $5,000 for being the school with the most donors from 4 to 5 p.m.

All gifts went to the Columbia College Fund, which supports the Core Curriculum, financial aid, student services and internships. By supporting the College Fund, donors make a vital difference in the lives of students.
