Art History
Description:
Sydney understands archaeology as a discipline that is largely intersectional, drawing upon the intersections of art, history, anthropology, classics studies and biology. She is particularly interested in analyzing how structural inequalities impact archaeology, more specifically, how the origins of race, class and gender inequality intersect and manifest physically through material culture. She additionally wishes to explore the archaeology of femininity, focusing on the role hair played in shaping and representing female identity and socioeconomic class in Middle and New Kingdom Egypt
