As an African American studies major concentrating in Urban Teaching, Migueyli seeks to explore how teachers' socioeconomic, ethnic, and racial identities function inside the public school classroom. She is particularly invested in understanding how hegemonic, apathetic student-teacher relationships hinder the success of underrepresented students. Ultimately, she hopes to use her interdisciplinary background and pedagogical training to inject the voice of underrepresented students in the discussion surrounding education policy.
