Neuroscience and Behavior
Description:
During high school, I conducted research in a genomic engineering laboratory focused on developing treatments for rare genetic disorders. Using recombinant DNA technology, I created novel fusion proteins intended to restore iron homeostasis in Juvenile Hemochromatosis patients. I also conducted immunostaining and histochemical studies on Pompe Disease mouse models to characterize the effects of a new antibody-guided enzyme replacement therapy. My current research interests include stem cell differentiation and genomic engineering’s applications to neurological disorders.
