I am studying the antecedents of true relationships in various cultures, under the supervision of Prof. Michael Morris. This research is an effort to revise the dominant models of trust, which rely heavily on Western cultural assumptions and may ignore culturally specific antecedents of trust. In order to explore the unique genesis and characteristics of trust relationships in individual cultures, I am coding and analyzing interviews with workers in India and the Netherlands, and will continue to analyze interviews conducted with Chinese and Turkish workers.
