Shondrea is interested, broadly, in how mental and physical colonization has manifested itself in the intimate relationships of people of color, particularly African-Americans, through desires, power structures, and other barriers. She wants to use her research to explore processes that may decolonize said relationships and to explore the possible benefits of "decolonized" relationships for activists and people of color. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Gender Studies at UCLA.
