Computer Science
Description:
Jonathan is a fourth-year student interested in the theoretical, application, and research fields of Computer Science. He is currently working with Dr. Allison Bishop (Columbia University – Department of Computer Science) to develop an anonymous identity-based encryption scheme based on three group elements as well as investigating properties of other functional cryptosystems. Previously, Jonathan worked in the VERITAS group at Nevis Laboratories under Dr. Thomas Brian Humensky (Columbia University – Department of Physics) conducting very high energy gamma-ray astrophysics and cosmology research. Originally part of the VERITAS global collaboration, the team at Columbia is now a component of the Cherenkov Telescope Array project—a global initiative to build the next generation ground-based very high energy gamma-ray instrument composed of Schwarzschild-Couder telescopes. Jonathan has also worked for Dr. Kuruvilla (Cornell University – Industrial Labor Relations) and Dr. Ariel Avgar (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign – Labor and Employment Relations) to develop a prototype ‘Dual Alignment Diagnostic Tool’ that evaluates the productivity of the industrial work environment and organizational behavior.
