Description:
I am interested in the intersections of race, sexuality and gender, particularly in the areas of medicine, science and social practice. I am concerned with the varying ways diseases are racialized and embodied in marginalized cultures, and the politics and aesthetics surrounding postcolonial stories of strength and survival. My academic pursuits in French and Francophone studies have also led me to research the relationships between pre- and postcolonial West African nations and France, with a special interest in the related stories of migration and decolonizing social identities.
