Sociology
Description:
Isabel is a graduate student at Stanford University, devoted to the discipline of sociology in all its forms: enthusiastic about methodological questions, fascinated by grand social theory, and passionate about symbolic interactionism. Her current research is grounded in the recent advances in the fundamental causes of disease theory. Isabel is using a qualitative approach to explore how an individual’s perception of health and health inequality is related to his or her socioeconomic status, paying close attention to individualistic and structural language and conceptualizations in people’s narratives.
