Center for Career Education to host first annual Undergraduate Career Fair

Thursday, September 17, 2015

The Center for Career Education will host the first annual Undergraduate Career Fair in Alfred Lerner Hall on Friday, September 25, from 12-4 p.m.

The Undergraduate Career Fair, along with a Graduate Student Career Fair to be held on Friday, September 18, will replace the Fall Career Fair that has been held in the past. Open only to undergraduate students, the Undergraduate Career Fair will cater to undergraduate student needs and interests and will showcase the breadth of industries seeking entry-level and internship talent. The fair will feature organizations from many industries including media, marketing, consumer packaged goods, consulting, advertising, finance and more; ninety-six of the 112 employers attending are recruiting from all majors.

The fair will also introduce the CCE Café, where students will be able to chat with CCE counselors to practice their introductions, ask questions about the fair and more.

“Creating two separate career fairs provides students with an experience that is tailored to their needs and interests, and emphasizes the importance and desirability of candidates from all majors and interest areas,” said Kavita Sharma, dean of career education.

For the first time, students will also be able to download a career fair app that will include a complete company listing, an interactive floor plan of the fair, prefair event details, real-time announcements and tips to help you prepare for the fair.
