Nicole Arlette Hirsch is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology. Her research interests center on racial inequality, racism, anti-racism, comparative sociology and cultural sociology. Nicole’s dissertation investigates how national context shapes strategies for ensuring equal rights. In particular, her study compares the strategies and logics of action of French and American nonprofit advocacy organizations in their efforts to address racial profiling.
