The Deans’ Student Assistance Fund supported more than 400 Columbia College and Columbia Engineering students with unanticipated costs during its initial semester, including providing students with FLEX meal funding during Fall Break and Thanksgiving Break, when the dining halls are closed. Other examples of situations when the Deans’ Student Assistance Fund may be used include travel home for a family emergency, unexpected health care costs and cold weather clothing needs.

Columbia College topped the leaderboard charts for the fourth annual Columbia Giving Day, a 24-hour University-wide event in which the goal is to support and increase awareness of annual funds across all schools. This year’s event took place on October 21 and nearly 1,700 College-related donors — comprising alumni, parents, students and friends — contributed a total of $3.7 million, a passionate show of support to continuing to build the best undergraduate experience for our students.
