Zeno of Citium (c. 334 BC – c. 262BC), who was one of the founders of Stoicism depicted in Raphael’s The School of Athens. Not a single whole work remains from Zeno, nor the other two founders of stoicism (Cleanthes and Chysippus), so much of our knowledge about stoic ethics comes from Roman stoics Epictetus and Seneca.
