The Core Curriculum

Smelling out a rat; or the atheistical-revolutionist disturbed in his midnight "calculations," by James Gillray, 1790.

This satirical cartoon shows Richard Price, the minister attacked in Burke’s Reflections on the Revolution in France, turning in horror from his desk, where he sits writing, to face the image of Burke hovering over his shoulders, holding a cross, a crown, and a copy of his Reflections.  Price has hanging on his wall a painting titled, “Death of Charles I, or the Glory of Great Britain."
