Studies of George III and Statesmen/ Sheet of Caricatures by Thomas Rowlandson, undated.
Relates to:
This is an undated caricature of several leading politicians by the British artist Thomas Rowlandson, (1756 - 1827). Burke is in the top left corner, surrounded by luminaries such as Lord North, the prime minister from 1770 -1782, Lord Thurlow, who was Lord Chancellor under Lord North, and King George III, among others. Burke’s place among such powerful figures is a testimony to his own prominence in the eyes of his contemporaries.
