Broadway producer Ron Simons ’82 won the Tony for “Best Play Revival” for August Wilson’s Jitney at the 71st Tony awards ceremony, held June 11 at Radio City Music Hall.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on June 15 that he would nominate Paul Feinman ’81 to an open State Court of Appeals seat. If appointed, Feinman would be the first openly gay justice on the state’s highest court. Matthew Skinner, the executive director of the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York says, “beyond the history-making nature of the pick, Judge Feinman is highly qualified for the position.”

Model and actress Hari Nef ’15 gave a makeup tutorial on Vogue.com on June 13, demonstrating a makeup look for a night out in New York City. Nef is one of three promotional faces for Gucci’s new perfume “Bloom.”

Nine College alumni received 2017–18 Fulbright U.S. Student grants, which fund international teaching positions and research for students and young professionals. Miranda Arakelian ’17 will teach in Germany; Daniel Bergerson ’17 will teach in Mexico; Brooke Robbins ’17 will teach in Taiwan; Eliana Kanefield ’17 will teach in Argentina; Vivian Chen ’17 will study public health in China; Molly Engel ’17 will study economic development in China; Rebecca Pawel ’99, TC’00, GSAS’16 will conduct research in Spain; Catalina Piccato ’17 will do an business internship in economics in Mexico; and Martin Ridge ’17 received a UK Partnership Award, which enables him to study toward a degree at Queen Mary University of London.
