The New Yorker announced its first virtual festival; viewers can tune in remotely for “an eclectic mix of conversations, performances, and experiences.” As part of festival, Eric H. Holder Jr. ’73, LAW’76 and Sherrilyn Ifill will talk with Jelani Cobb (the Ira A. Lipman Professor of Journalism at the Journalism School) about “the fight to vote.” The discussion will be held on Sunday, October 11, at 4 p.m.

Three alumnae received nominations at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, held on September 20: Kate McKinnon ’06 in the “Supporting Actress, Comedy” category for her work on Saturday Night Live; Nicole Kassell ’94 in the “Outstanding Directing For A Limited Series, Movie Or Dramatic Special” category for her work on the Watchmen episode “It’s Summer And We’re Running Out Of Ice”; and Anna Winger ’92 in the “Outstanding Writing For A Limited Series, Movie Or Dramatic Special” category for her work on the Unorthodox episode “Part 1.”


YA novelist Arvin Ahmadi ’14 was interviewed in Entertainment Weekly on September 11, discussing how an Italian vacation inspired his latest work, How It All Blew Up. The novel will be released on Tuesday, September 22.
