The Board of Visitors, which is composed of alumni, parents or friends of the College, is an independent and self-governing body of advisers to the dean of Columbia College. Acting individually and collectively, its members promote the best interests of the College, sharing high-level counsel and expertise on issues that have an impact on the College, its students and its faculty. The board focuses on a strategic level, advocating for the College within the University community, the city and the public sphere.
